Manforce explores another dimension of ‘safe sex’

Yesterday only, I came across an advertisement on youtube which is a story of young female who comes to police station to report an issue. She shares that she is being threatened and shows some screenshots to policeman as proof. It is towards the end of 3:12 minute long film it is shown that, she is being blackmailed with her intimate photos and videos and the blackmailer is none other than her ex-boyfriend.

Based on a research conducted by India Today sex survey, 1 out of 5 couples admit to have filmed their intimate moments, thus making themselves prey to illegal pornography. The act of mixing physical intimacy and technology is a dangerous action which leads to suicide, blackmailing, divorce and insinuation due to the leakage of tapes.

Due to the rise in such cases, manforce generated the idea of ‘safe sex’ which goes beyond protection from sexually transmitted diseases to modesty.
In their recent campaign, ‘#ShutThePhoneUp 3.0’ manforce explores another angle of ‘safe sex’, where they bring this issue to light and make people aware of this appalling fact.
They also urge people not to hesitate to approach the cyber-crime cell as the prevalent law will not only serve justice but also encourage others trapped in the same situation to open up. They send out a message to couples that they should be careful while sharing personal space and be smart enough to not put themselves in compromising position and simply shut the phone up.

Rajeev Juneja, C.E.O, Mankind Pharma said that, “As a responsible brand, we take pride in sensitising couples about safe sex. We found the time is right to educate couples on the seriousness of the problem.”

Campaign has been conceptualised and executed by ADK Fortune Communications Pvt. Ltd. In the series of #ShutThePhoneUp campaign, the 3.0 film primarily focus on the fact that in most such cases, ex-partners are the accuse. So, one should not trust their partners blindly and later fall prey to their blackmailing. They can save themselves from further victimisation by taking help from right authority.

Many victims do not know about the laws and go unreported. So, one should always have courage and belief to approach the right authority at right time to protect their right to privacy, modesty and dignity.
