Events; Brand Building and CSR Tool

Public Relations is fundamentally the art and science of establishing relationship between an organisation and its key stakeholders which makes a company stand out from others in the crowd. PR Professionals employ various tools and techniques to build good relations and attain objectives. One of the most significant external PR Activity is Events.

Events are a very powerful tool of communication as they offer direct and quick exposure to intended audience. They have multifaceted micro and macro level impacts not only on the image of the organisation but over the relationship between management and its various stakeholders.
In today’s emerging conglomerate world where various business sectors are advancing, PR plays an important role in almost every organisation whether it is Health Care Sector, Managing Politicians or Hospitality Sector.

Health Care Sector or hospitals like every other business sector organizes Events and Various Outreach programs such as Free Health check-up camp, Health talks, CME’s, RTM’s, seminars etc.
Free Health Check-up Camps are a very common activity being held by various hospitals as they not only act as a medium to bring in potential patients but also fulfills the need of CSR, Corporate Social Responsibility on the behalf of Hospitals, thus providing dual benefit.

Last month I came across Free multi-specialty health camp being organised by Eternal Hospital. It was held at a Gurudwara in Vaishali Nagar for people visiting there to worship. Along with doing their medical check-up free consultation with Doctor was provided so that they can consult them regarding their problems and get guidance. The hospital also reserves some beds for BPL People. Such CSR Events of Hospitals help a lot of people by early diagnosis of disease and receiving proper consultation. Generally such CSR Events are organized twice or thrice a month by well established Hospitals.

The growth of events in health care sector puts emphasis on the developing need of Public Relations Department. It is the proof of upcoming dawn in the growth of PR in India in versatile business arenas.
